HD, 3D remastering of first three Sly Cooper games arrives in under two weeks on PlayStation 3 with Move support.
Back at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June, Sony announced it was readying a PlayStation 3 collection of all three PlayStation 2 Sly Cooper games: Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly 2: Band of Thieves, and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. Today, the game giant gave that collection a release date: November 9, less than two weeks away.
Besides having remastered HD graphics, The Sly Collection will boast 3D visuals–provided the player has a television that supports 3D. It will also support Sony’s PlayStation Move motion-sensing system, which hit the US market on September 17. In addition, the collection will have full trophy support, with remastering duties of the Sucker Punch-developed originals being handled by Sanzaru Games.
In 2002, the first Sly Cooper game saw the raccoon protagonist embark on a search for the “Thievius Raccoonus,” a tome containing a host of tricks and skills from his family’s years of wholesale burglary. The stealth-action platforming series continued with Band of Thieves (2004), which saw Sly try to stop the reassembly of an evil mechanical foe. The trilogy wrapped with Honor Among Thieves (2005), which had the masked protagonist travel to a remote island to recover still more secrets of the thieving trade.
