2K Games updates status for belated PC launches of latest downloadable content; Minerva’s Den not expected before March.
BioShock 2’s two most recent downloadable content releases–the Protector Trials and Minerva’s Den–were released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 months ago, with publisher 2K Games offering a shrug to the PC community. In early October, 2K said it had no plans to offer both packs for the PC. Then later in the month, the developer reversed course, saying both add-ons would indeed arrive on the PC after all. Now, 2K says the first of the pair is nearly ready.
According to a
post from 2K Games’ senior manager of interactive marketing Elizabeth Tobey on the official BioShock 2 forums, the Protector Trials downloadable content is heading to certification at the end of the month, with a release date announcement to follow.
As for the Minerva’s Den content, according to the post, that add-on “still has some work to be done on it” and will move to certification in March.
Minerva’s Den was the first content pack to include its own single-player narrative and to introduce new solo environments. The Protector Trials offered a series of challenges set on maps based on locations found in the main game.
