GT5 is–finally–coming out in Australia this week.
The eyes of the gaming community are on Gran Turismo 5 this week to see if years of production have delivered a game that justifies the long wait. In the racing title’s defense, the spec sheet is fairly big, boasting 71 different tracks, more than 1,000 cars, and a feature that the fans have been pleading for: damage modeling. Branching out from traditional car manufacturers, Polyphony Digital has also managed to license vehicles from NASCAR, the World Rally Championship, and Super GT for players to choose from. Sadly though, there are no V8 Supercars amongst the list. With copies of Gran Turismo 5 already in the back rooms of retailers around Australia, it’s safe to finally say that the game will definitely be out in the wild this Thursday.
Next up is the release of Warren Spector’s latest game, Epic Mickey. Epic Mickey sees the usually happy-go-lucky mouse show off a little of his darker side for the first time. The game will be released exclusively on the Wii, and Spector has trawled through the Disney archives for inspiration and created a bleak world populated by forgotten Disney characters.
Other titles worth mentioning this week include Michael Jackson The Experience, TRON: Evolution, and Splatterhouse.
