Statue, art book, early access to DLC.
In the US, the Batman: Arkham City Collector’s Edition includes a premium statue, an art book, Gotham Knight animated material and early access to DLC.
That’s according to various US shops, including Best Buy and GameStop (as spotted by Joystiq). It’s available to pre-order and will be sold for just under $100.
According to Best Buy: “This exclusive Collector’s Edition brings the Caped Crusader to life in a whole new way with a premium statue, a beautifully designed art book, Gotham Knight animated content, early access to digital add-on content and more.”

PC and PlayStation 3 gamers will have to wait to jump into the Call of Duty: Elite beta, Activision has said.
The social network and stat tracking service is already live for Xbox 360 owners.
PS3 gamers get Elite “this summer”. PC gamers have to wait until the autumn.

The patch notes for Witcher 2 version 1.3 have been shared online by developer CD Projekt.
The update contains a free new quest called A Sackful of Fluff, which takes place in Chapter 2.
Patch 1.3 also adds item storage; a Junk category to your inventory; a disappearing HUD for screenshot taking; and deactivates the option to punch the woman praying at the statue in Vergen.

Moves past Black Ops with ease.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is smashing UK pre-order records.
UK specialist shop Game said today the Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games’ created first-person shooter is breaking the company’s pre-order record set by last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Black Ops was Game Group’s largest pre-order and best-selling title in the company’s history.

US giant GameStop says so.
US giant GameStop has said EA won’t sell upcoming first-person shooter Battlefield 3 on Valve’s Steam.
Financial research firm Baird spoke with GameStop bosses and in its report it said: “The upcoming EA title Battlefield 3 will be sold as a download through GameStop, but not through Steam.”
“Given Steam’s dominance and insistence on users downloading a Steam client application publishers are likely to be receptive to a competitive alternative,” the Baird report read, as reported by Develop.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has confirmed to Swedish site Aftonbladet (translated by Eurogamer) that the Assassin’s Creed title for Wii U will not be a port of Revelations.
When asked if Revelations was heading to Nintendo’s new system, Guillemot replied, “No, not Revelations. For the future.”

The Assassins’ Creed Wii U game is not Revelations, Ubisoft has confirmed.
In an interview with Swedish website Aftonbladet, translated by our Swedish brethren Eurogamer.se, Ubisoft mega boss Yves Guillemot said it’s “for the future”.

Single-player campaign now a novel?
A book, simply called Battlefield 3, has turned up on online shops.
Amazon and Barnes & Noble both list Battlefield 3 the book for release later this year.
According to the shops it’s by Battlefield executive producer Patrick Bach and Andy McNab, the pseudonym of a former SAS operative and soldier and novelist.

New Mass Effect 3 team-mate James Sanders is now known as James Vega, BioWare has revealed.
The Sanders name was used while “we were still designing his character”, explained Mass Effect series chief Casey Hudson.
Does that mean Vega now has no theoretical ties to Mass Effect fiction heroine Kahlee Sanders?
