We knew this already, of course the news was inadvertently leaked by the Official PlayStation Magazine last week.
Kratos will have his own fatalities, combat moves and God of War themed arena. Kratos won’t, however, turn up in the game’s story mode, but, let’s be honest, who plays fighting games for the story?

Asia finally gets the Xbox 360 version of Square’s last offline Final Fantasy epic.
While Western gamers have been enjoying Final Fantasy XIII for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 for many months now, gamers in Asia have had to be content with only the PlayStation 3 version being officially available in the region thus far. That situation changes this week, with the Xbox 360 version of Square’s RPG epic finally coming out on December 16.
Final Fantasy XIII received mostly positive reviews when it was released in March this year and tells a sweeping story involving metal behemoths called fal’Cie, the dangerous underworld called Pulse, the high-tech, elaborately designed world of Cocoon that floats above it, and, of course, a wide cast of characters, each with a unique agenda. Xbox 360 owners can get their hands on Final Fantasy XIII when it ships on December 16 this week.
To find out what else is out this week*, check out the list below:
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 16
Final Fantasy (360)
Gundam Musou 3 (360)

Light new release slate led by mustached plumber’s nostalgic return on Wii; period expansion for Battlefield entry on PC.
Last week Deathwing brought his deathly ire to Azeroth, ripping apart World of Warcraft in the game’s third expansion, Cataclysm. This week the House of Mario brings its famed plumber back into the spotlight, but perhaps with less vengeance than Deathwing.
Championing the week is Sunday’s release of Super Mario All-Stars exclusively on Wii. The $30 limited edition, in commemoration of Mario’s 25th anniversary, contains four classic Super Mario Bros. titles, as well as a commemorative art booklet and soundtrack CD.
The four titles included in the bundle are Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2, and Super Mario Bros. 3. All four bundled titles feature updated graphics and enhanced sound.
The soundtrack CD, dubbed Super Mario History, is a collection of music and sound effects from the mustachioed-plumber’s virtual history. Specifically, the disc features music ranging from the original Super Mario Bros. to Super Mario Galaxy 2, which was released earlier this year. In addition, the soundtrack will contain the first official release of the “Super Mario Bros. Ground Theme,” the memorable tune from the original Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario All-Stars will also come with an art book. The 32-page Super Mario History book contains interviews, concept art, behind-the-scenes details on the history of Mario, and “never-before-seen design sketches.”
For PC shooter fans, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 gets a period expansion this Saturday
via the EA Store. The $15 multiplayer expansion pack will allow players of the contemporary military shooter to take a trip back in time to the Vietnam War, which raged from the mid-1960s to early 1970s. It will consist of four maps, including the rice fields of the Phu Bai Valley and the napalm-kissed wasteland of Hill 137. The Vietnam expansion will also pack in a number of period-specific weapons, including the Navy SEAL XM22 machine gun.The expansion, due out on Dec. 21 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, will also feature all-new dialogue based on actual Vietnam War radio chatter, as well as eight radio channels with nearly 50 tracks. The selection of songs will range from Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son” to Richard Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries.”

Prototype 2, SSX: Deadly Descents, Insane confirmed at VGAs, Forza 4 due fall 2011
Dec 12, 2010Ceremony sees Activision sequel, EA snowboard game’s existence, Guillermo del Toro games locked down; Kratos playable in PS3 Mortal Kombat.
Tonight’s VGAs wasted no time in confirming one game rumored to be revealed at the awards ceremony: SSX: Deadly Descents. During the opening montage for the show, the game’s title was briefly flashed, several weeks after a nearly identical Web URL was registered.
A trailer that premiered later in the broadcast confirmed rumors that the game will be set in the most extreme mountain ranges on the planet, with a high danger element to gameplay. In fact, it will be the first game to use real-life mountain ranges as its basis, according to publisher EA Sports.
In SSX: Deadly Descents’ trailer, the main character drops in from a helicopter to a flare-lit snowboard run at night, only to veer off the trail. He then pops out the wings of a flying squirrel wingsuit as he careens over the edge, apparently confirming more rumors the game will feature pastimes other than alpine sports.
Also confirmed at the event was Prototype 2, the sequel to Activision and Radical Entertainment’s 2009’s open-world adventure. Set for release in 2012 for unspecified platforms, the game will concern Sgt. James Heller, an ex-soldier tasked with taking down the protagonist of the original game, Alex Mercer. No platforms for the title were revealed.
Film director Guillermo del Toro was also on hand to unveil his new game, Insane. In development at Red Faction-maker Volition studios and publisher THQ, the game will reportedly be a tie-in with his next film, and is apparently an action-role-playing game with horror elements inspired by Call of Cthulhu author H.P. Lovecraft.
The evening’s ceremony also featured a live action trailer for the Kinect-compatible Forza Motorsport 4, which was dated for fall 2011. Additionally, the broadcast featured the unveiling of Elder Scrolls V
and Mass Effect 3, as well as the dating of Resistance 3
and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Last, but in many fighting-game fans’ estimation, not least, the event revealed that God of War protagonist Kratos will be a playable character in the PlayStation 3 edition of the upcoming Mortal Kombat game.Read and Post Comments | Get the full article at GameSpot
