Dolph Lundgren lending his “acting chops”.
Uwe Boll, a German filmmaker of questionable talent, has signed blonde bombshell Dolph Lundgren for another Dungeon Siege-inspired movie.
Boll hasn’t got the official licence this time around, so he’s calling his film In The Name of the King 2 (the first film was In The Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale).
The plot is best described by Boll himself:

Are you one of them?
Half of Microsoft’s 25 million Xbox Live members are Gold subscribers.
That’s according to Microsoft’s internal statistics, revealed by the head of Interactive Entertainment Business Dennis Durkin at the Credit Suisse Annual Technology Conference overnight.
“Of our 25 million members, about half of them are subscribers to the business and pay us about $60 a year for that,” Durkin said. “So it’s a very large business for us and for our partners.”

It’s… A story.
The “wow” mode in new boxing game Fight Night Champion appears to be a story-based campaign about one man: Andre Bishop.
In Champion Mode, you’ll follow Bishop’s hopes and dreams through fights, training and possibly cut-scenes. This will be EA Sports’ first M-rated game.
“I grew up in the gym,” says Andre Bishop in the first of two available teaser trailers. “My pops was a fighter: top-rank middleweight contender. I learned it from him.

Australian government: No conclusive link between violent games and aggression (Left 4 Dead 2)
Dec 2, 2010Australia is well-known for its unforgiving censorship of violent games. The country’s government-controlled rating system lacks an 18+ category for videogames, meaning that every game must fit the criteria of the legally-restricted MA15+ category. But those days may soon be over… …

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light: Kane & Lynch to become playable. Seriously, here’s the first screenshot (Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days)
Dec 2, 2010Yeah, this is a thing that is happening. As part of the upcoming DLC push for their rather delightful downloadable Tomb Raider Game, Crystal Dynamics are soon to release two downloadable character packs, and one of them is set to comprise of everyone’s favourite sociopathic heist-merchants. While it’s obviously a (hopefully) last, desperate attempt on behalf of publisher Eidos to make people care about Kane and Lynch, this does bode mass comedy potential. Even better, there’s also the promise of a second pack, bringing back Raziel and Kain, of the supremely why-haven’t-we-got-another-sequel-yet Soul Reaver series.
Anyway, we have the first, big, high-res screen of Kane and Lynch doing their Tomb Raiding thing right over the jump, as well as a couple of videos. You know you need to check it out. …

So Panorama, the BBC’s investigative documentary series, is doing an edition centred around supposed cases of games addiction. And because the BBC wants people to watch it, it’s put an advert out. Unfortunately, regardless of the content of the show itself, the ad is the worst kind of “games rot your children’s souls” nonsense, full of woefully transparent, manipulative imagery designed to scare the living crap out of parents with thoughts of their innocent, sparkly-eyed young ‘uns turning into the kind of slack-jawed, glassy-eyed deviants who eat live kittens and listen to Michael Bublé.
Basically, it’s hilarious. And rather than being incensed, we saw it as a challenge to make an even more ridiculous version. You can judge whether we’ve succeeded in out-stupiding it over the jump. …

Iranian action game ‘Garshasp’ reportedly finished, may be released internationally (Garshasp)
Dec 2, 2010The Republic of Iran hasn’t contributed much to the gaming industry since its obscure sci-fi MMO, Asmandez, but apparently we’ve been overlooking an in-development action adventure game called ‘Garshasp.’ This trailer, which was released a few months ago, caught our eye due to recent media attention, and it doesn’t look bad… …
