It was Ubisoft’s night at the 2010 EA British Academy Children’s Awards, with Rabbids Go Home named Best Videogame while Just Dance won in the Kids’ Vote category.
The star-studded ceremony, held last night at London’s Park Lane Hilton, also saw the first winners of the BAFTA Young Game Designers competition crowned, with Beached Whale Productions’ Hamster: Accidental World Domination scooping the prize.
Rabbids beat off stiff competition from a Nintendo trio of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver. Just Dance, meanwhile, was the surprise winner voted for by children from a shortlist of ten, including FIFA 10 and LEGO Harry Potter.

New system revealed by Index Holding will assess titles “based on the culture, society and the special values of Islam”.At the Dubai World Game Expo today, the Index Holding corporation and Iran National Foundation Of Computer Games announced the formation and launch of the Entertainment Software Rating Association (ESRA).
The ESRA is designed to evaluate games in respect to Islamic values and rate them accordingly. -

The console version of Super Street Fighter IV may be about to welcome fighters Yun and Yang and Evil Ryu.
Website EventHubs spotted their faces on icons for a new batch of Super Street Fighter IV Xbox 360 Achievements.
Alternative costumes for Yun and Yang were released on Friday, but these were linked only to the Japanese Arcade Edition of Super Street Fighter IV.

SEGA has wiped all scores from the Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I leaderboards because some gamers were cheating.
Impossible times of 0 seconds and scores of 99999990 have been rubbed out, but so too have legitimate accomplishments. What’s more, there’s apparently nothing to prevent the hackers reposting these illegitimate results.
SEGA forum administrator RubyEclipse defended the decision (via Destructoid). “The reset was not useless – and is far better than simply leaving even more hacked times up there,” RubyEclipse wrote.

Decided game was ambitious enough.
Bungie has revealed that it mocked up a multiplayer version of the Sabre orbital attack ship level used in Halo: Reach during the game’s development.
One of Reach’s most memorable chapters, Long Night of Solace, saw players take off from Reach in a Sabre and engage the Covenant in space.
And according to creative director Marcus Lehto, at one stage there were plans afoot to make it a competitive multiplayer level.
