PC gamers May be happy.
PC fantasy role-playing game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be released on 17th May 2011, creator CD Projekt’s announced.
“We’ve decided to move the launch date back a few weeks to afford us more time to polish the game,” said project lead Adam Badowski.
“Of course, we know that players would like to get the game as soon as possible, so we hope that they will forgive us! We strongly believe that the extra time spent polishing the title will be well worth the wait.”

“Important revisions” to Monster Play, too.
The Lord of the Rings Online may never get another proper expansion pack, producer Aaron Campbell has told Eurogamer – the free-to-play relaunch has taught Turbine “a lot” about “pacing” of updates. But don’t worry – next year’s trip to Isengard will be just as good.
“Expansions classically have a few things tied to them,” Campbell educated. “They have something along the lines of a new system; they typically have a level cap tied to them; and they have some epic piece of content or arc to hang their hat on – an important place in the world that people want to go to.
“What we’re learning as we build free-to-play is that we can release parts of the world at a time. So our next major update – and we’ll be talking more about this soon – starts to extend the world out for free-to-play players. They’ll be able to get up to level 65 and see all the world that’s available to them.

“We asked Valve about this almost half joking and they were totally down,” said the developer. “(We LOVE Steam…like…a lot. Much like Gish, he will stick to walls but also have more horizontal jumping power as a head crab should.

Sell half a game in shops, the rest as DLC.
F1 2010 creator Codemasters has a novel idea it could use to combat the threat of second hand videogame sales sell half a game in shops and the other half as downloadable content.
That, according to CEO Rod Cousens, would not only help tackle the earnings lost from used game sales but piracy, too.
“It’s not inconceivable to say that we send out a Formula One game that’s not complete – maybe it’s got six tracks,” he told Eurogamer sister site GamesIndustry.biz.
