Capcom’s rock hard side-scrolling platform game Ghosts ‘n Goblins is heading online.
Korean developer Seed9 is doing the honours, according to 1up’s translation of 4Gamer.
The side-scrolling format will remain, as will the mechanic whereby armour drops off the hero with every hit you take.

Square Enix has detailed downloadable content for Front Mission Evolved, some of which is free, some of which costs cold hard cash.
Weapons Pack 1, out today on Xbox Live and tomorrow on PSN (it’s already out on PC) brings three new weapons: Machine Gun: Dark Hog, Shotgun: Blackstone and Rifle: Sieger.
Wanzer Pack 2, also out today on Xbox Live, and tomorrow on PSN and PC, adds two wanzers: the Stork Mk. IV and Tatou.

Infamous early nineties CD-ROM game The 7th Guest will pop up on the App store in December, original creator Trilobyte Games has announced.
The iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad port will be the original in its entirety with reworked touch screen controls and a revamped UI, according to Touch Arcade.
What is 7th Guest? It was one of the first CD-ROM games and, along with the seminal Myst, helped usher in a new era of videogames packed with full motion video.

DOTA creator Abdul Ismail (better known as IceFrog) has assured the Defence of the Ancients community that Valve’s new sequel won’t override and replace the original.
At least not straight away.
“I plan to keep DOTA updated for as long as the community wants,” he pledged.

The Wii version of Michael Jackson The Experiences comes with a replica of the King of Pop’s trademark white glove.
It’ll be bundled with early shipments of the game, due out on 26th November, as a reward for early buyers. Last month the Kinect and PlayStation Move versions were pushed back to Q1 2011.
“One of the most iconic symbols of Michael Jackson’s music and performance legacy is his signature glove,” shared Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Ubisoft.

What is Resident Evil: Raccoon City?
A multiplayer-focused Resident Evil game may be in development at SOCOM developer Slant Six.
The Canadian studio behind PS3 game SOCOM: Confrontation and PSP games Tactical Strike and Fireteam Bravo 3 is making a game called Resident Evil: Raccoon City and described as a “team-based affair”, according to a document received by Kotaku.
Adding fuel to the rumour fire is Slant Six Games’ website.

Update marginalises independent games.
Yesterday’s overhaul of the Xbox 360 dashboard has upset a number of independent developers, who claim it makes it even harder for their games to find an audience.
The revamp moves Xbox Live Indie Games out of the games store proper and hides it under a new tab titled Specialty Shops alongside the Avatar Marketplace and Game Room.
Gamasutra reports that developers are taking to the App Hub forum to voice their discontent.
