UPDATE: Sony comment retracted.
Update: NowGamer, the website responsible for the original report, has pulled the Sony-attributed comment stating that the pictures were “definitely fake”.
The website now tows the standard line Eurogamer heard earlier today: that Sony doesn’t comment on “rumour and speculation”.
Original story: Sony Europe has declared that the PlayStation phone images that appeared on the internet overnight are “definitely fake”.

Nintendo has already revealed that Kirby’s Epic Yarn began life without Kirby. Now one of the developers has suggested that Epic Yarn is a strong enough concept that it could continue without him into other Nintendo series.
Technically both revelations came from the same instalment of the unmissably formal Iwata Asks, but the first, news that the game was originally about a chap called “Fluff”, was from a partial translation of the Japanese transcript. This week’s comes courtesy of the full English translation.
In it, HAL Laboratory’s Tadashi Ikegami, who began in sound but worked on Epic Yarn as more of a manager, told Nintendo president Satoru Iwata that when he first saw the Epic Yarn visuals he thought, “they were perfect for Kirby”.

A former Bungie developer has claimed that Apple was on the verge of buying the Halo developer just before Microsoft did back in the late nineties.
Yesterday, former Microsoft executive Ed Fries revealed that he was asked by CEO Steve Ballmer to placate Steve Jobs after the acquisition because the famously volatile Apple boss was furious about it.
Now, former Bungie staffer Tuncer Deniz, who worked there prior to the Microsoft buyout, has claimed that Jobs had also been invited to buy the studio, only to lose out because he dithered for a week before he made his mind up.

Bigger than Twitter according to US firm.
US analyst outfit SharesPost has valued FarmVille creator Zynga at $5.51 billion.
According to the firm, its valuations are based on “recent transaction prices, current posts, research estimates and recent last round venture financing valuations”.
SharesPost says it specialises in venture-backed private companies, using its various inputs to calculate prices and facilitates trades. To put the Zynga figure in perspective, it currently values Twitter at just under $3 billion and Facebook at nearly $33 billion.
