Telltale delays PC/Mac edition of licensed episodic adventure to launch alongside console versions this fall; preorders refunded.
April is the scheduled arrival month for the PC and Mac versions of Telltale Games’ take on NBC Universal’s Jurassic Park, and as the month comes to a close, eager gamers may be anxiously glancing at their calendars. However, the anticipation is in vain, as Telltale announced this week that it has substantially delayed the first episode in its dinosaurs-run-amok adventure series.
Telltale now expects to release the PC and Mac versions alongside their console counterparts this fall. The studio has yet to reveal which consoles Jurassic Park will be available for, but Telltale has experience releasing games for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii.
“The game’s mechanics and storytelling have come together in such a way that we see great potential, so much so that we feel we can push these elements to the next level if we spend some extra time working on them,” Telltale CEO Dan Connors said of the delay.
Connors also noted in an open letter to Telltale’s fan base that those who preordered the game will be issued a full refund for their advance purchase. The executive also offered a make-good to preorderers, saying that those who bought Jurassic Park in advance have their pick of a free copy of any Telltale game. Information on this offer and preorder refunds will be distributed to those applicable in the next couple of days.
