Tickets now on sale for Penny Arcades annual open-to-the-public game expo; developer-focused PAX Dev announced.
Judging from the nearly 70,000 gamers that showed up to the Penny Arcade Expo’s East Coast event in Boston last month, demand for the open-to-the-public game convention remains insatiable. Today, event organizers announced through the Penny Arcade webcomic site that ticket sales have begun for the perennially sold-out West Coast show.
PAX Prime, as the West Coast show has been dubbed, will take place August 26-28, and it will again be returning to Seattle’s Washington State Convention Center. Day badges can be purchased for $35, while a three-day pass can be bought at a discount for $60. Should any tickets survive presale, day-of passes will cost $40.
As in past years, PAX Prime will feature a variety of video, pen-and-paper, and board-gaming related activities, as well as developer and expert panels. Gamers also have the chance to compete in the Omegathon gaming challenge, in addition to being treated to live performances from the likes of Jonathan Coulton and MC Frontalot.
This year, PAX organizers will also be holding a special two-day event that caters to the development community. Called PAX Dev, the event will take place August 24-25 and be held at the Sheraton Seattle Grand Ballrooms. Preregistration pricing for the event, which is only open to digital and pen-and-paper game developers, stands at $249. Day-of tickets will cost $329.
