3DS remake of Nintendo 64 sci-fi flight shooter is cleared for launch with new controls, multiplayer power-ups.
StarFox 64 3D is coming in for a landing. Nintendo has confirmed it is readying the remake for release on the 3DS September 9.
More than just a straight port of the original, StarFox 64 3D adds a number of features, including the ability to control the game’s Arwing spacecraft using the 3DS’s tilt-sensitive gyroscopic feature. The game also includes re-recorded voice work, and new power-ups for the game’s multiplayer mode.
The game should also kick off a parade of first-party titles for the 3DS that should stretch through the end of the year. The recently announced Pokemon Rumble Blast will follow on October 24, and Nintendo has previously confirmed that Super Mario, Mario Kart, and Kid Icarus: Uprising will all arrive in 2011.
