Valve is reportedly eying its own piece of the free-to-play (F2P) pie. In an interview with French game gaming site Barre De Vie (Life Bar), the studio’s PR boss Doug Lombardi reflected on the state of microtransactional gaming, and responded with a vague “Yes” when asked point blank if Valve was planning to join the F2P party in an official capacity.
“In some regions of the world, F2P games are already more [popular] than the traditional games,” said Lombardi in the translated quote. “This trend continues for some time and we believe that it will continue. There are still other F2P [features] to come…” …
